Book a local photographer or videographer

LensLocal is a marketplace app for Great Britain. Clients browse real portfolios, see who is free on their date, and book. Creators list their work, set their own prices, and get paid after the shoot.

In short. LensLocal introduces clients to independent photographers and videographers and handles the booking payment. The shoot itself is a direct agreement between the client and the creator — we introduce the two sides and process payment, but we do not employ creators or carry out the work ourselves.

Who it is for

Clients — people booking a shoot: weddings, portraits, events, property, products, music videos and more. Mostly consumers.
Creators — independent photographers and videographers, mostly sole traders and small businesses, who list their portfolio, packages and availability.

How a booking works

A client browses creators by city and by the kind of work they shoot, and views their portfolio.
The client picks a package and a date from the creator's real availability, and sends a booking request. Creators can also quote a custom price in chat.
The creator accepts. The client pays a 50% deposit to hold the date.
The remaining 50% balance is paid before the shoot is marked complete.
The creator delivers the work. Once delivery is confirmed, the creator's share is paid out.

How payment works

All payments are processed by Stripe. LensLocal never sees or stores card details. Bookings are priced and charged in pounds sterling.

Each booking is split 50% deposit and 50% balance.
LensLocal charges a 10% platform fee on the booking total. The creator receives the other 90%.
Payment is taken by LensLocal and held until the work is delivered, then transferred to the creator's connected Stripe account. It is not paid out at the moment of purchase.
Creators are paid through Stripe Connect. They complete Stripe's own onboarding and identity checks before they can receive any money.

Because payment is taken by LensLocal and passed on afterwards, LensLocal is the merchant of record for the transaction and appears on the client's card statement.

Cancellations and refunds

Rescheduling is offered as an alternative to cancelling — either side can propose a new date, and the other accepts. The full rules are set out in the Terms of Service.

Trust and safety

Creators who complete Stripe's identity verification carry a verified badge.
Clients and creators message inside the app; profiles and conversations can be reported or blocked.
Reviews can only be left by a client after a completed booking.
Accounts are 18+, and any account can be deleted from within the app.

For creators

Listing is free. You set your own packages and prices, mark the days you are unavailable, and keep 90% of every booking. Payouts run through your own Stripe account, so your bank details stay with Stripe and never sit with us.
